The Harpeth Franklin Downtown, Curio Collection by Hilton offers a stylish and convenient stay in historic downtown Franklin, Tennessee. While many guests rave about the hotel’s ambiance, location, and friendly staff, recent reviews have highlighted some operational issues and inconsistencies in service. The property is well-regarded for its historic charm and proximity to local attractions, particularly for families and those seeking a sophisticated, yet comfortable, experience.
Nice hotel with a convenient location to Downtown Franklin. A but pricey as are most of the retail places here, but always fun to walk around. Room was okay. Smelled a bit like urine, no soap or conditioner in the shower (not sure of the shampoo), and the elevator wasn't working, but I'd stay again.
Always a pleasure to stay at the Harpeth. Rooms are clean, and the most comfortable shower in the world! Also, the coffee in the coffee shop is the best. Wish the coffee shop opened at 6:00 am instead of 7:am.
First let me say, I know this isn’t a big expense for many, but it was for me and my husband which is why we only stayed a night. The staff (especially valet) were kind and very hospitable so I have no complaints there. The location is also wonderful! We arrived (under Tompkins, my husbands name) when we were told we could check in, to be told we needed to wait 3 more hours. Thankfully we only actually had to wait another hour, but we had a tired baby I had needed to nurse in the room. We got a queen when we had booked a king, so our 6mo daughter had to sleep in her bassinet stroller. The last thing that was frustrating was our room service dinner. We had both ordered medium well (we have gotten steaks from 1799 several times and they always undercook in our experience) and both were so rubbery and completely charred. I was told the hotel couldn’t do anything about it and my number was given to the restaurant manager, but I never received a call. When my husband and I got married we spent a week here and it was so wonderful, so I was disappointed to stay again and it be so subpar. I have had better experiences at hotels that are $250 a night.
We took our kids on Spring Break to Franklin, TN for their FIRST hotel stay ever and The Harpeth set the bar high! The staff was so friendly and made sure the kids felt extra welcome with surprises in the room and cookies on their pillows. The waitstaff at the restaurant was fantastic with our kids. It’s such a fancy and fun vibe with the outdoor seating, library and live music. Nextdoor the businesses had live rabbits for Easter! It was a highlight! We loved being able to walk to dinner and church next door. It was a safe, special and memorable hotel experience!
I recently stayed at the The Harpeth Hotel in downtown Franklin and had such a great experience. Originally we had only planned to stay one night, but after settling in and walking around the beautiful, historic downtown area, we realized we didn’t want to leave yet. My wife, daughter, and I were having such a good time that we decided we wanted to stay another night to really enjoy a full day exploring everything downtown Franklin has to offer. (Also a huge bonus that the hotel is dog-friendly! ?) When we decided to extend our stay, Susan at the front desk made the whole process incredibly easy. She was an absolute joy to work with and made the extension completely seamless. Her kindness and helpfulness really stood out and felt like a perfect example of the level of service the staff aims to provide. Because of that extra night, we got to spend a full day walking around downtown, soaking in the charm of Franklin, and making some really special family memories. 10/10 recommend staying here! ??
I try to stay here at least once per month. Comparable to the Ritz Carlton on many levels at a fraction the cost. Convenient to everything and I often catch sight of a celebrity or two. Attached breakfast spot is fantastic. One of my favorite places in Tennessee.
Came for 4 nights at the boutique hotel in Franklin, I had a room with balcony and single king bed. Bathroom was super nice and large walk in glass shower. There is a fitness center that was nice for a hotel gym and two Peletons. The lobby is cozy with live music and a courtyard with igloos to sit in and enjoy being outside without the elements. Food I had for our catered events was high quality and friendly staff and valet. Bonus this is a pet friendly hotel!
I have lived in Downtown Franklin for more than 15 years. I’ve walked past this building before it was a “it” thing. Tonight I decided to enjoy a room and dinner for myself. The rooms are more than excellent, please come here and enjoy all of Franklin. This hotel is boutique and unique, if you are a fan of quiet luxury, this is your place However, this is the third dinner that I have had at this restaurant and they cannot get it right- I am typically a pescatarian but occasionally I reach for lamb due to the high concentration of iron—-big mistake here… Here they oversold the “porterhouse“ lamb chops and substituted it for small store-bought 3 ounce lamb chops, which they promptly sell for $70 if that’s not bad enough I asked for a medium rare, one came exactly the other one was burnt to the bone. The side of scallop potatoes was completely burnt on the bottom when I got an exchange, the meat was not seasoned but better temperature prepared and the scallops partially cold in the center. The first two times I came for dinner, I had the salmon dish, which was bland and typical in taste- nothing to write about. My advice come here to enjoy the hotel, but please walk one or two blocks for better food. You will thank me -everything in downtown Franklin is excellent. Go to the factory or the local seafood place. You will thank me later. Staff- waitress Anastasia( excellent service and tip worthy!!) Chef - Arensha- (not with the correction in name spelling) Manager- Michelle- she did comp me 20% off for their food, I didn’t come for a reduced meal, I came for the experience. I gave it back to the waitress plus more.
We love staying at the Harpeth—beautiful rooms, kind service, and it so close to everything. The location is very walkable. The Harpeth is elegant but not stuffy, and very family friendly. At reception, August was fantastic and handled a cranky traveler ahead of us in line with grace and patience, she and the whole team are wonderful. The only changes I’d make are a few tweaks to make it more disability and elderly accessible.
My spouse and I stayed at The Harpeth back in January, and although the hotel is beautiful, the customer service we received was not as great as we expected. The staff at the time wasn't as warm and welcoming and didn't acknowledge my status with the brand. This time around, ALL the staff was absolutely amazing, especially Ivory. Ivory apologized for our previous experience and went above and beyond to make up for it, with empathetic actions and superb customer service. We will definitely be back!
